My 31st Birthday...a late update.

Hi Everyone

I have had such a busy couple of weeks finishing things off and organising some little surprises for friends and family who have birthdays coming up next month, that I'm a little behind in writing and sharing here on the blog :)

Today I thought I would share some of the lovely and generous sewing related gifts I received for my birthday this year :)

Some wonder clips - I cant wait to use them!
These were purchased here, from a lovely shop owner in Tasmania :)

A stitch regulator - I'm hoping this will make my English paper piecing easier and quicker :)
Purchased here.

A turn it all kit - this will be extremely useful!

I also received some books:

1. A Set of Coasters using this tutorial.

2. A hexie sewing kit using this tutorial.

3. A sewing kit/caddy for the car using this tutorial.

Hi everyone,

Today I'm joining in with mood board monday, and it is hosted over here:

This weeks Mood board Monday theme is "Tropical", seeing as summer is on the way here in Australia, I was quite excited by some of these tropical finds!

Here is my mood board:

1. Make your own mason jar cosies with this tutorial - a fun way to have a cold drink in summer!

2. Tropical fruit party decorations - what a fun idea for a summer party :D

3. Make your own tropical themed table runner with this tutorial.

4. Palm trees on your nails?  Yes please!

5. is it a pineapple? No!  Its a pumpkin :D  With halloween not far away, this tutorial/activity might be fun to do with the kiddies...

6. Yummy tropical (colour blocked) Icy poles, I will be making these for the little monster this summer (but using fruit juice instead of alcohol!) :D

7. A paper umbrella wreath - this is soooo pretty!

8. A tropical beach bag tutorial - I could do with a new bag to take to the beach :)

WIP Wednesday

Hi everyone

Today I'm joining in over here...

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Here are all my Works In Progress (WIP) at the moment:

1. The Little Monster's quiet book (for his birthday - you can see the finished pages here).

I didn't manage to finish all the pages I had planned to in time for his birthday...so I will be working on this project for the next little while.

I'm working on the Robot page at the moment:

2. I'm still working on my necessary clutch that I started in selfish sewing week (also here and here)...luckily the parts I was waiting on have arrived, so hopefully I can find some time to work on this soon!

3. I am working on 2 playhouses at the moment...here is a sneak peak:

One is already sold and the other will be for sale in my shop as soon as it is finished :)

4. This embroidery piece is almost finished...

Once it is, I will be writing a tutorial so you I'll be able to create your own!

5. I have just started working on the 1st of 14 blocks for a swap with some lovely crafty ladies I met on Facebook.  In 14 months time I will have 14 hexie diamond blocks to make a quilt, and I will have made various coloured blocks in my fellow swap partners colours :)

Here is my progress on the 1st diamond block:

6. My crochet scarf for the ASWC crochet along  has stalled :(  I havent picked this project up in ages...I fear I may never finish this item (just like I never finished knitting that 1st scarf all those many years ago)...

What are you working on right now?
