It has been a while since I shared here...I have been busy busy making monsters and playhouses...and signing up for SWAPS!
I am participating in a pin cushion swap, a zipper pouch swap, and an embroidery swap over the next few months. I will try to find the time to share both what I make for the swaps AND what I receive from the swaps, how exciting - or maybe it's just exciting for me :)
So in my excitement, I have finished my pin cushion for that particular swap - the picture is below...and I have to say I am pretty proud of it!
The bowl or "nest" was a find from one of my local op shops, as we're the beads (a great way to re-purpose a pretty necklace).
I love the fabric in the nest (a cotton/poly blend) and so pretty with the 3 different coloured flowers, this one was from spotlight.
The little bird is made from a wool blend felt, and is fully hand stitched (the pattern I used to make the bird is here: http://petitepurls.com/Summer11/summer2011_t_felt.html )
This swap is being run by Kristina from Harley Barley Designs, http://www.facebook.com/HarleyBarleyDesigns
The other swaps are being hosted by:
Zipper pouch: this one is hosted by monkey mai, http://www.facebook.com/monkeymaicreations , Kristy makes some fabulous apple shaped pin cushions.
Embroidery swap: this one is being hosted by sweet little pretties http://www.sweetlittlepretties.com/ , Lisa writes a great blog and some wonderful tutorials too :)
More detail as I make and receive :)
